Lounge-a-ma-suite

Last night Tina and I bought a delicious new lounge suite. It's almost obscenely comfortable, and we're eagerly anticipating its delivery (8 days to go).

Anyway, this means we have an old lounge suite (3 seater and an armchair) which we no longer require. It's been through about 4 or 5 different households, but it's still 90% intact and quite comfy.

So, does anyone need a lounge suite? Ideally we'd want someone to collect it on or close to Saturday 13th December.

(this isn't first-come-first-served, btw. We're more likely to give it to a close friend or starving student, if there's multiple people asking for it)

Put me down on the list - but behind starving students

Well, you're the only person who's expressed interest, so I guess that means it's yours! Do you want to send me an email (tommo at ucc) to arrange a time/day to collect it?

For a moment, I read that as 'have bought delicious new lounge suits'. I could kind of imagine you in a delicious new lounge suit, Beck playing, chillaxing.

Hehe, now I want to buy a delicious new lounge suit! Damn you Dave! :P

I read it as the same thing... :P

If you've just been hunting new couches, any tips on where's good to look? Most places I've looked at the couches have seemed exceptionally expensive! (but I might just be stingy!)

If you don't want to pay too much, Furniture Spot seems to be decent, although I'm not sure they're especially high quality. For slightly more pricey stuff, Harvey Norman seemed okay, as did Furniture Bazaar (which is where we ended up buying from).

My tip would be to go from store to store, sitting on heaps of couches, recording which ones you liked best on a piece of paper, until you eventually come up with a clear favourite.

I highly recomend http://www.waloungediscounters.com.au/
They are in Wangara but really nice and very helpful. We paid about 3k for our custom made couch but I think they start at about 2k. All made to order in the fabric you choose. Took them about 2 weeks to make ours.
