R.I.P. Paul Newman (1925-2008)

I've never really been able to single out my one favourite film, but for a very long time I've been sure that Paul Newman was my one favourite actor. I grew up watching Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke and The Sting, and they became significant parts of my childhood. I still put them on regularly - along with many of his other fine films - to this day.
I'm very deeply saddened by his passing, despite the fact that it was obviously going to happen one day soon.
Rest in peace, Mr Newman. Your films have been - and shall continue to be - an immense source of enjoyment for myself and many others, and by all accounts you were a generous soul and a true gentleman.
