I just started my first tutoring job, helping a Year 12 Hale student with Discrete Maths, and I'm really enjoying it. It doesn't feel like work at all, and the kid himself is friendly and enthusiastic to learn, which makes the whole being-paid-for-it aspect particularly nice.
I was worried that I'd be lousy at it, for whatever reason, but I seem to be doing pretty well. By the end of the first lesson, the kid definitely had a better understanding of the material we covered.
I should try to get more students. It seems like a very nice way to make some extra cash.
In other news, the Big Day Out is very soon, and I'm very excited. Anyone interested in meeting up?
